Why I love editors

The two pieces of mine [1], [2] that appeared in the most recent Sunday Source would not be as good as they are if not for the amazing editors and copy editors at the Post. I’m an editor too, but that only means that I know all the more how important it is to have a second, ruthless set of eyes. In a pinch or when I’m writing for somewhere that might not be as strict about editing, I’ll work on my own stuff, but believe me, I am so happy to have these guys’ smarts available to me. I don’t have to tell you about news staffs shrinking, do I? I just hope copyeditors and editors aren’t bought out of existence.
